Any plans to add native support for a Gutenberg block to TablePress? Having TP’s CSS only be included if a block is actually on a page would be a nice improvement. And full styling would be visible while in the editor.

    Thanks for TablePress!

    Hi,

thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

Good news: A Gutenberg block for TablePress will indeed be coming, in the soon-to-be-released major overhaul TablePress 2.0.
Initially, it will allow choosing a table and setting some options, and will then render a small preview of the table in the block editor.

I like your idea about the CSS loading, but am not sure if this can be integrated easily. Legacy uses (i.e. Shortcodes or template tags) will still be supported, also for backwards compatibility, and for those I’m not aware of a good way to conditionally load the CSS.
But one step at a time 🙂

    Regards,
    Tobias
