    Hi.
I’d like to let users put their posts on one or several of the available pages based on the category they select when writing or editing their posts.
I have a handful of pages right now, but all posts only show up on the home page, but I’d like the admin and authors to post meeting posts at the meetings page, blog posts at the blog page, news posts at the news page, and some posts at several of the above, all based on the category/categories selected by the author of the post. Is there a way to do this? I’ve been looking for a plugin but couldn’t find one that worked properly in WP 2,7.
Please be specific, I’m guessing I need to hook into something with some code on the page. I’m not very experienced at WP and need a little help to get this working.

  • If you categorize (or tag) your posts into News and Meetings, then WordPress will automatically display your posts in those categories when you click on a category link.

Change to the WordPress Default Theme, create your categoires, write a few posts and assign the categories, then visit your site to see how it works.

    Thanks. 🙂
I’m using a theme, it has a page menu across the top of the page. How do I change it so that categories show up there along with pages?
The setup(under construction) is available for viewing at http://www.xrunblogg.com/ulstein/grunder/wp/
Can I assign categories to existing pages, or do I need to skip pages for the posts and go with just categories? If that’s the case I’d like the categories to show up like the buttons for pages do in the menue along the bottom of the header in the above setup.
I just need some pointers on how to do it, or where to find the info on how to do it.
Thank you very much for your help. 🙂
