placing adsense adds- messed up site can't fix – help

Hi,
I am totally new to this, and had a site set up for me for free by my hosting company. All i had to do was put in the adsense adds. I followed all the directions, and put in the adds. When I checked the site, i had blank boxes and it didn’t look right so i put more adsense widgets in. To my dismay I messed up most of my site, so I took the widgets off through wordpress, thinking the adds would come come off, but now it look worse.

I don’t know what to do to fix it, when i moved the widgets off, I thought it would go back to where i started. This is an information site, and the adsense adds were there to monetize it.

I am at such a loss….this is my first site, so i just followed instructions, but obviously i did something horribly wrong
