 * I’m using the free version of Smart Slider 3 and want to say that I’m enormously
   impressed with its capabilities and ease of use. I easily got it going on my
   site.
 * My problem: I have a page that has ~10 sliders on it (for example, cabin descriptions
   at Loch Lyme Lodge – [https://newer.lochlymelodge.com/?page_id=210](https://newer.lochlymelodge.com/?page_id=210))
   It takes a long time to load the page (maybe even 15 seconds… Yikes!)
 * I could do a lot of work optimizing image size, etc. but that still doesn’t address
   the issue, which is:
 * The viewers don’t want to wait for all those images to download that’ll never
   be seen. Most of the time our viewers will come, review one or two cabins that
   seem attractive and click Book Now.
 * My question: What are my options with Smart Slider? Can it:
 * – display placeholders (I’ve seen the note from earlier this week)
    – delay loading
   of (small) images – only load images that are visible on-page (if they scroll,
   then load more images) – only load images when the viewer hovers or clicks an
   image – … something else
 * As I said, I’m using the free version now, but if the $25 PRO version could do
   this nicely I’d be sold. Many thanks!

 * Hi [@richbhanover](https://wordpress.org/support/users/richbhanover/)
 * To be honest, your page loaded pretty fast for me.
 * The pro version has a lazy loading feature which you can use to load only the“
   active” slide of each slider and load the other slide when the visitor switches
   to it. You can find it in the Slide Settings -> Loading tab: [https://smartslider3.helpscoutdocs.com/article/1163-slider-settings-optimize](https://smartslider3.helpscoutdocs.com/article/1163-slider-settings-optimize)
 * Also, you might want to have a look at the documentation which lists tips to
   speed up your site. You can find it here: [https://smartslider3.helpscoutdocs.com/article/185-how-can-i-speed-up-my-website](https://smartslider3.helpscoutdocs.com/article/185-how-can-i-speed-up-my-website)
 * All of our packages contain the same pro version with all features so the Single
   Domain package ($25) has this feature too.

 * Hi Ramona,
 * Thanks for this response. I think the Pro version is in my future 🙂

 * PS That page takes a while if you have a crummy/slow internet connection, as
   happens here in the shrubs of New Hampshire 🙁 My go-to test for web site speed
   is webpagetest.org. Its default is to test with 5mbps download/1 mbps upload.
   Here are the results from a recent run on that page – it was over 14 seconds
   to load the first time, and you can see it’s the image downloading that holds
   it up. [http://www.webpagetest.org/result/180402_B5_09e6de0002cfd7c40fb04981da7defeb/](http://www.webpagetest.org/result/180402_B5_09e6de0002cfd7c40fb04981da7defeb/)
 * PPS I should probably report back the results of the test after installing the
   Pro version with lazy loading…

 * Hi Rich ( [@richbhanover](https://wordpress.org/support/users/richbhanover/) )
 * Your TTBF value is rather large: [https://imgur.com/a/i3Ow2](https://imgur.com/a/i3Ow2)

   The TTFB indicates the speed of the server and According to Google the optimal
   speed is under 200MS: [https://developers.google.com/speed/docs/insights/Server](https://developers.google.com/speed/docs/insights/Server)
   Yours is 808 ms so you could try to reach out to your host because it could be
   a misconfiguration.
