 * i have a query. i did the first page of the tutorial, but got this reply:
 * The requested URL /pixelpost/admin/install.php/ was not found on this server.
 * you have any idea what i did wrong?
 * – – –
 * the other thing is that on your first page, you said that 4 lines have to be
   editted, but didn’t say edit to what, so i left it the same. any possible error
   from that?
 * thanks.

 * Does pixel post play nice with wordpress? Can I integrate it into my theme? Why
   would I want to use pixel post?

 * I didn’t like PixelPost when I tried it because it stored all your images in
   one folder. I wanted to be able to manage my images on a folder basis (one folder
   equals one gallery). Other than that PixelPost worked fine although I forget
   if it integrated easily into WP.

 * PixelPost isn’t meant to be used as a photo gallery for folder managment purposes.
   It’s really geared towards running a photoblog (just as WordPress wasn’t [initially]
   meant to be used as a CMS, even though it’s capable of it).
 * For image managment, as you mentioned, jwurster, you might try something along
   the lines of Gallery or Coppermine.

 * There are so many solutions out there. You really need to define what you want
   to do with your images. Then you can pick the right solution.

 * You need to replace “change_me” into the appropriate values, so:
 * $pixelpost_db_host = “localhost”; // database host, often “localhost”
 * $pixelpost_db_user = “change_me”; // fill in the username of the database (ask
   your provider)
 * $pixelpost_db_pass = “change_me”; // fill in the password of the database (again
   ask your provider)
 * $pixelpost_db_pixelpost = “change_me”; // fill in the name of the database
 * And yes, Pixelpost can be intergrated within WP.
    Search the pixelpost forum
   for help [http://forum.pixelpost.org](http://forum.pixelpost.org)

 * I used pixelpost for over a year before I got tired of its inflexibility, and
   its developer is very is very narrow-minded and stubborn to accomadate for growth
   and major improvements.
 * I tried movable type, but I couldn’t even get it to install on my server and
   seemed way too complex. I had been using wordpress for a while for a seperate“
   words only” blog and decided to integrate them. The result, after weeks of tweaking,
   is the best CMS system I’ve ever installed.

 * Pixelpost rocks, and is the perfect companion to wordpress (at least for me)

   I’m not sure it’s worth trying to integrate it, but I like to have WP as my main
   blog, and pixelpost as my gallery.
