Hello there,
We really appreciate you writing in.
You might need to enable your Memcache extension. Please follow this instruction https://www.lullabot.com/articles/setup-a-memcachedenabled-mamp-sandbox-environment.
Thank you!
Hi,
Sorry, but what does an article about activating a memcache extension on a mac in a sandbox have to do with a WordPress plugin?
Quick update on this –
My staging website (which this plugin is working fine on) is running on php 5.6
The website that I wanted to run the plugin on, and is giving the error is running on php7
So does this plugin work on php7 or do I have to settle on another plugin that works on php7?
Just had a word with my hosting provider who said that memcache is not available on php7 installations.
So they advised three possibilities –
1) Use a different plugin
2) Swap my php version back to 5.6
3) Comment out the offending line in the php file.
So not wanting to downgrade either of option one or two, I decided to try option three.
So armed with Notepad++ I found the offending line of code (which had now changed to line 127, don’t ask me how, it just had?!?) and commented out the line with
127 # session_start ();
Works fine now!
