    @wwday3

    I am very pissed at you, and I am going to tell all my dev friends about it.

    I was using Events Organiser.

    Then I installed Events Manager to compare with EO.

    Then I clicked on the uninstall option in EM.

    ==> EM then proceeded to delete ALL of the events I had added using EO.

    YOU DELETED EVERYTHING THAT HAD A POST TYPE OF EVENT!!!!.

    ARE YOU COMPLETE AND TOTAL IDIOTS????????????

    @caimin_nwl

    What are the names that Events Organiser uses for custom post types?

    If there was a clash between names, I’m surprised the second plugin activated with showing errors (since register_post_type would run twice with the same name).

    Hiya,

    Unfortunately EM can’t really take account of other plugins using the same post type.

    When you click the uninstall button you are given the following message;

    All your settings and events will be permanently deleted. This cannot be undone.

    It was clear that all events would be removed if you were to proceed with that option.

    I would recommend in future using separate development sites if you want to test out new plugins. You should also ensure you always have a recent database backup so that if you do lose any data you can quickly recover it. Some plugins that can help you with this include;

    Cheers
