Here’s my site: gpncjamie.wordpress.com – I haven’t done much with it yet. Mostly I have just tried to get it set up. There are some default images that come with the ‘Pique’ theme, all coffeeshop-related. I deleted them and uploaded new images to my ‘Media Library’, and replaced the ‘Featured Image’ on each of the 4 ‘Pages’ that are included by default with the theme. The final page, which by default is entitled “Blog” but which I’ve changed to “Updates”, which is supposed to be where all the ‘Posts’ appear, this one just continues to use the theme’s default coffee image. It just ignores the image I’ve chosen, even though in the editor it shows the correct image. At first I thought, maybe it’s because I haven’t added the first blog post, so I added one just as a test. The coffee image is still there. If this is un-fixable, that’s a deal-breaker for me. I’m not going to use a theme that forces me to use this coffee imagery, which makes no sense for my site. So I’d like to figure out if this is fixable so I can decide whether to continue trying to create my (very basic, not trying to accomplish much here) site with this template or just select a different one instead. I’ve had difficulty in the past with the complex, user-created themes (some of them very lovely) not necessarily working, or features breaking when I’ve updated the version of WordPress, especially when I’m using a CPanel install from my host. I’ve even had a blog completely break, so I intentionally stuck with one of the default themes and kept the wordpress.com domain to keep things simple. So I’m a little surprised this one is having this issue. I’m sure this is not okay with anyone else either. My past experience has been, as long as you keep the blog on wordpress.com and use one of the default themes, the site will never break. This one seems broken out of the gate. Can anyone help? I like this simple theme for my purposes, and it works well as a single-page scroller on mobile; I don’t want anything any more complicated than this. Thanks!

You’re posting in the wrong place and need to ask in the correct forum.

    http://en.forums.wordpress.com/forum/support

This forum here is for self-hosted WordPress.ORG software installations.

    This link explains the differences.

    http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

    It’s a common misunderstanding. 😉

Looks like you got this figured out as I’m seeing an image of trees on your blog page here:

    https://gpncjamie.wordpress.com/updates/

For anyone coming across this thread in the future, the blog page in Pique displays the Custom Header, not a featured image.

(That’s the same no matter if you’re self-hosting or not.)

As Jan said, these forums are for folks running the WordPress software on their own hosting, not on WordPress.com. If you need further help with your theme on WordPress.com, feel free to post in the themes forum here:

Oh, that’s so weird. I totally posted a reply to this to let people know that i had re-posted this question under the Pique-specific section of the theme forums, and marked it as resolved, and on the question i posted there, i posted that i’d figured it out, with an explanation about the Header Image versus the Featured Image, and marked it as resolved, as well. I have no idea where my reply went! But thank you so much for being so kind as to reply anyhow! I wasn’t being a derelict, i thought i’d done what i needed to do to make sure no one wasted any effort on my issue (or needed to re-direct me to the Pique section)! Maybe my internet went out when i submitted that. I just checked all my tabs and i don’t see it sitting open.

No worries — I’m glad you’re all set!
