I use the pinterest button in this plugin and it works well in an individual post page, it grabs the image in the og:image tag. However, when I choose to add the button to the homepage, or category, or archive, or any page that lists many posts, it doesn’t work so well.
In these pages, it doesn’t make sense to use the og:image tag for pinterest. Ideally we would be able to set the image url (maybe a custom attribute in the post?) and a nice default would be the first image in the post. A way to pass parameters to the pinterest button is described here: http://www.addthis.com/social-plugins/pinterest
I see this quite doable in with the standard ways to show the buttons, and it’s a little bit more work with the custom code, but not impossible.
Could you please consider adding such functionality? For me this would enhance the usage of the pinterest button very much. Thank you.
