Pinging Navigation Menu Updates As New Pages?

I updated my Navigation menu with a link to my homepage, and it pinged.

Every time I update my menu, it pings, even if I don’t have new pages.

I don’t edit my blog a lot so it’s no big deal but it might be a problem for people who update a lot.
