Since both incoming and outgoing pingback/trackback attempts have the problem of not showing immediate result sometimes (held for moderation, lack of feature support on the other side, etc.) even without anything going wrong (technically), it’s hard to tell, when nothing shows up, whether something has gone wrong, and if yes, on which side.
Therefor I consider it a good idea to have a log of all incoming and outgoing pingback/trackbacks in the admin area. Maybe as a plugin, but actually I think it’s important enough that everyone should have it.
