 * I have three pin images on this post. As I use Gutenberg Block editor, the images
   are within three columns block. When it was still the old editor, I can use data-
   pin-description & data-pin-title to add text to the image using HTML code. When
   a user pin this image to the pinterest, the context in data-pin-description will
   show up as the pin description, and the context of data-pin-title will show up
   as the pin title.
 * But this impossible with the current editor, both classic and block editors.
   Please help.
 * The page I need help with: _[[log in](https://login.wordpress.org/?redirect_to=https%3A%2F%2Fwordpress.org%2Fsupport%2Ftopic%2Fpin-description-2%2F%3Foutput_format%3Dmd&locale=en_US)

 * Hi,
    Apologies for the delay! The Image block allows you to add Alt text (alternative
   text) to the image. Have you tried this?
 * Kindly,
    Hannah

 * I also have this issue. Apparently [so does everyone](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/data-pin-description-not-working/).
   WordPress hates data-pin-description. It will break your image blocks.
 * Have you figured anything out yet? I’ve been scouring the internet for months
   and can’t find a solution to this. I don’t want to pay for a plugin.
 * Apparently data-pin-description is good for SEO purposes within the Pinterest
   platform itself because it helps them figure out how to categorize things and
   show your pins in search results. But this description doesn’t actually show
   up anywhere visibly. Pinterest will pull the excerpt from your post, or the social
   media excerpt from Yoast that you enter for your Facebook description. At least
   that’s what I’ve sort of devised based on trying to contact support.
 * So if data-pin-description is impossible to implement, maybe I’ll just have to
   give up and be happy without it. Especially if people can’t read it anyway and
   it’s just background meta. I can’t really “test” whether data-pin-description
   even helps with SEO. Maybe that’s just what they tell us so we’ll buy the plugins,
   idk. But if it does actually do anything, I’d like to be able to have the option.
