Support » Fixing WordPress » Pictures in Media Library being auto resized smaller

  • On a static front page an image I uploaded is being reduced. The image is 840 x 633 and the theme allows 1024x for large pics. I am not using a gallery, just WP Media. I noticed in the text the picture is stated using the correct file name initially. After the image is referenced the first time, then there is an alt= <path/filename>300×225.jpg. So the file has been renamed and it appears to be reduced to this 300×225. I want the larger, full size of the picture to display. As a WP newbie, I’ve worked on this more than a day, read many posts on pic sizing and cannot find the correct place to “tinker” to get a full size image on the website.

    Following is the text:

    <a href="http://rgvbirdersoasis.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/Copy-of-BY-2.jpg"><img class="wp-image-25 aligncenter" alt="Copy of BY 2" src="http://rgvbirdersoasis.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/Copy-of-BY-2-300x225.jpg" width="300" height="225" /></a>

I have tried changing the width and height numbers near the end, but that only changes the size in the page editor, not the size on the website.
