• I ran the blogger import to WP and got all my text and comments over, but my pictures gone missing. I can see them in the beginning, but when i reload the page they dissapear. This probably happened since they are stored at the blogger server, but does anyone have a tip for how to import the pictures without doing it one by one?

  • They can be uploaded bulk, but I think they’ll have to be inserted one by one. I’m in the same boat myself this weekend, and planning on much coffee and not much sleep:)

The only tip I can share is to get your photos ready ahead of time. You can make folders by year and month. Go through your archives a month at a time, open each photo in a new tab in Firefox (or new windom in IE). Save them all, reformat them if you want, etc.

Sign into WordPress, and open the “edit this” link for each post of a given month, and then just start uploading the photos or inserting them from an FTP upload. I’m tired and blurry eyed, but I can’t think of another way.

    Which browser did you use?

If you save an html page in firefox it will also save the images in a separate folder for viewing offline. At least it does for me. Give it a try.

Then all you need to do is check the path and see if you can just put the images directory in the right location to reflect where your image links point.

I believe that I read in the past someone had written an importer or plugin to import the blogger images from blogger to wordpress. I have not tried this myself but I am planning on trying when I can get the rest of the blogger import to work.

I was just going through some of my old posts and I find it odd that I never replied to this thread with my solution. I’m sure it is too late for this thread, but in case anyone is interested or find this thread later, I wrote a plugin that imports the blogger hosted images in a WordPress blog to the local server.
