I have been unable to find a way to add a name and description to an image that is uploaded via email. Most of my clients use email to post. One in particular only posts images. So the images get saved as photo and no description. Is there a way to take the subject line and make it the image name, and the text in the email to be the description? I am not really using the site as a blog but more of an image gallery.

I’m afraid that won’t be possible; the subject line is always used as post title, and the text is used as post content. The images are always inserted as is, without any caption.

Depending on how your theme is built, you might be able to control the image descriptions by providing an image title and description as EXIF meta data.
