Pics show in edit view, but not in public view
-
I am using WP Staging. After some tweaking I got the pics to show, but only in edit mode. They do not show when I view the page. I only see a square where the pic should be.
I’ve looked at other similar posts but could not find a specific answer to my experience.
Does anyone have a solution?
Thanks in advance.

I went to media settings and unchecked “organize my uploads into month and year based folders.” It didn’t work.
I’m wondering if the problem could be permissions, or what folder the pictures are being directed to. I read Changing File Permissions” but I don’t seem to be getting any answers from that documentation.
I read similar topics in another thread but I can’t find anything newer than about two years old.

@tgc5308 Please send me the system information from wp staging > tools > system info and also a link to your staging site.
You can use the contact form on that page: https://wp-staging.com/support/
Cheers
RenéThank you, Rene.
The contact form did not work. I sent you an email.

@tgc5308 could you please send us a screenshot of the error your get while using the contact form?
Thanks, see you in the ticket system:-)
The problem was with the reCAPTCHA. It takes a long time and the arrows spin, then it tells me the reCAPTCHA has timed out.
It works now.
As for my original issue: I am being asked to provide FTP information now. I sent you the system information you asked for. Could you find anything in that file to help the problem?

Hi Rene.
Just following up on your suggestion to contact you if I didn’t get a response. I haven’t heard from anyone yet.

I am sorry, what is your surname? Then I can have a look at our ticket system.
(We have a lot of incoming tickets at the moment but usually, reply to all of them.)You can optionally send me your contact data to my private contact form: https://www.xsimulator.net/contact-us/
So all of these emails will go directly and only to me.
This is what has been happening. I have three sites. I tried WP Staging on one site and as I wrote, the images do not show. There was a big orange notice saying WP Staging has not been tested with WordPress 5.5.3. So I changed the version back to 5.5.1 hoping this would fix the problem. Nope.
Another site uses Word Press 5.5.1 and the images are showing. This is why I reverted the problem site to 5.5.1 as well. So now I need to figure out this new mystery of why one site works and one does not.
I realize I am using the free version, and paid members come first. That’s why I probably need to figure this out myself.
When you contact us by using the support link above and providing us with a link to that staging site we can have a look at your site.
Did you change the default image location from wp-content/uploads to something else on the site where the images are missing?
Hi Rene:
Please understand. My last post was not a condemnation.
I sent the link to my staging site a few days ago. I thought it went through. Maybe not. I will send it again.
Thanks for trying to help.
