Pics on theme InterGalactic

Hi — I posted a pic as its own post. No prob.

But in the post list (on the home page of the site) it shows the title
of the pic, and then the “read more” button. No pic. When you
click the “read more” button, you see the pic.

I’m wondering if there is a way to post the pic so that it appears
under the title on the home page (in the list of posts).

I did discover the “set as featured image” switch, but it makes the
image too big (and crops it funny).
