Could you please provide me with the URL you’re trying to use?
Also, try deleting and re-downloading the plugin; that usually resolves this issue. 🙂
I tried deleting it and then reinstalling it but no luck:( It can be found on the left sidebar at http://networksboise.com. It should be displaying the same images as the widget that is above it.
Could you give me the RSS feed URL you’re having trouble with? It looks as though the feed is returning empty after being parsed.
This is the same feed as the other plugin above it is using and is also the same feed that was working before it abruptly …. stopped:)
I appreciate your help!!
I think I found the issue.
On lines 93 and 158, the regex expression is failing to match because it is based on the url having an underscore in the first directory path. ie:
It seems that picasa has started using hyphens. ie:
When I omitted the underscore from the regex strings, the plugin started working again.
Example: I changed:
Hope this helps.
To clarify, my previous post is a fix for the thumbnails loading small (72px) as mentioned here: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/plugin-anyfeed-slideshow-not-resizing-photos-from-picasa-rss?replies=4
I removed the one underscore at the end between “en” and “US” but with no affect? Or, were you possibly referring to something that the user can not fix?
I meant that you have to edit the code of the plugin itself.
Your feed address is ok…there is loads of images listed…nothing wrong.
The plugin is not matching them because Google change the format of the url for each photo.
the image http://lh5.ggpht.com/-WlRY50C6jW8/S-nlXw-IKpI/AAAAAAAABi0/i_Yii7AmPxY/s288/Tracy%252520Sprague.jpg is different than the old formatting. the old way would have been (_WlRY50C6jW8) with an underscore instead of a hyphen.
If you NEED to fix it now rather than waiting for an official fix, go to plugins and click “edit” under Anyfeed Slideshow.
In the code for anyfeed-slideshow/anyfeed_slideshow.php, find and change url=\’http:\/\/.*?\.ggpht\.com\/_.*?\/.*?\/.*?\/.*?\/s)
(there are 2 instances, notice I took out the underscore)
By the way…i just tested your feed with my code change…worked like a charm.
Like butta’!! Thanks so much for your help with this! I’ve never edited a plug-in before so now it’s kind of like getting my cherry popped 🙂
Right on! haha
Just remember that if the plugin gets updated by the author without this new change being rolled in and you upgrade it, you will have to manually make this change again.
I’m so sorry for the extreme delay in fixing this! Life has a funny way of piling everything on you at once. jfreake, Thank you so much for sharing your solution with everyone here, I seriously appreciate it. <3
jfreake’s fix to this issue will be included in next version with appropriate attribution.
