I’m having real issues with three things on my site.
TO clarify, I just moved the site from one host to another, and some of the wordpress back end functionality works a bit differently from the old host to the new.
I never had to see the ftp dialog when adding plugins or thremes previously, but I do now – I have to enter my ftp data every single time I want to add something (which isn’t a problem, per se). It may be related to my problems though, and I’ve no idea how to change it.
Problem (1) – Cannot get either of two contact forms to work – wp-contact, or Easy Contact – the problem is essentially the same, in that using the “drop in” short codes, all the page does is display the shortcode as typed. I’ve followed the author’s instructions all the way with both.
Problem (2) – I downloaded phpinfo – now all that does is display a blank page with the title php info, and a menu widget, giving a link to a 404 not found page (helpful).
I suspect that my problem is related to permissions somewhere – perhaps that my installation doesn’t have read or write access where it needs it – I just don’t know what I’m looking for, or what to change it to.
I’m kind of wondering if I shouldn’t just do a new vanilla install of WordPress and point it to my database, then slowly add in all my functionality again – and themes.
Can anyone advise me?
