# PHP Upgrade breaks WP

 * I just upgraded my php installation from 5.2.9 to 5.3.3-7. This has caused four
   different WordPress installations to fail. Two of the blogs are version 3.0.5,
   one is at 3.0.2 and one is at 3.0.1.
 * None of the blogs can be managed or logged into. Two of the blogs will show some
   data, but I am not sure if it is being generated or if it is from a server cache.
 * If I click on /wp-login.php I get a popup box saying “You have chosen to open
   wp-login.php which is a PHP file from [http://www.example.com](http://www.example.com)
   What should Firefox do with this file?” I am then given the option to open the
   file or save it. If I save the file it is 0 bytes in length.
 * If I go to [http://www.example.com/wp-admin/](http://www.example.com/wp-admin/)
   I get a blank page with no content. If I navigate to [http://www.example.com/wp-admin/plugins.php](http://www.example.com/wp-admin/plugins.php)
   I get the Firefox popup like I do on the wp-login.php link.
 * Other php applications are working, including a Drupal installation.
    What am
   I missing on my PHP configuration? Are there specific changes in my .htaccess
   that I should try?
