    Using 2.7
I recently upgrade to a windows system and I got the following when I uploaded WP:
PHP installation appears to be missing the MySQL extension

I searched the forums and saw all the suggestions to leave windows, However my provider offers WP in their window package and it “auto installed” at the click of a button and it works perfectly at

    http://thesweetmagnolia.net/cgi-bin/wordpress/

Why could they install it and I can’t?

    Thanks
    SJ

  • Who is your provider?

If Godaddy, change to a Linux Hosting Plan.

    Alpus.net

But like I said I don’t understand because the provider placed the above blog at the click of a button.

If they can install one how come I can’t.

I checked the url path and made sure all files were uploaded.

I have a ticket in with the provider but they haven’t gotten back with me yet.

    It’s just odd

It’s possible they are running that instance of wordpress in another area where PHP is configured ‘correctly’ or it is running on a linux server.

It will be interesting to see what your host says.
