  • Hello

    I am steadily working my way through creating a child theme based on twenty ten. I have created a page for my homepage that has three containers, one that covers the area just below the nav, and two underneath, the column on the left i`d like to display latest page excerpts, the one on the right will be left for static information.

    Here i am ->

    At the moment other the content area of my homepage has no php residing in it anywhere, this is simply because i don’t know what php to include and what to leave out.

    As i said above, the only real dynamically produced content i would like, is for the latest 2 or 3 blog posts to be fed to the left hand content div (the olive green one)

    i tried implementing the code here to no avail. So i guess the question is, how do i go about doing this? As i`ll be creating more page template files and would like to know what php these pages will need to dynamically call content.

    I still have an index.php and page.php amongst others lurking in my child theme folder, but i`m guessing these arent going to be referenced as they arent being called, given i have created my own homepage template, and called it in the page attributes dropdown.

    Hope some of this makes sense.
