• A little advice please …

After moving servers, we’re having a few problems with which version of PHP to use and which PHP modules typically need to be installed to prevent issues with the majority of installations/plugins.

From this list (click here) … which are the ones that are needed or should be enabled as standard? Which are never required? Which might be sometimes required?

Also, any php.ini tweaks recommended to ensure smooth, speedy running?

    Thanks in advance.

To be honest, I’m not sure, but I’ve never had trouble with the default PHP configurations.

If it a plugin requires a module which isn’t installed, it should let you know.

WordPress requires PHP version 5.2.4 or greater (though we’re beginning to see some plugins requiring 5.4 or greater) and recommends suPHP.

OK, thanks James. I was looking for a list of what the modules are that are commonly installed/enabled on WP hosted sites to see if we can get a default set worked out for our clients.

I have never really seen such a list in all these years. WordPress just seems to work with the default PHP configuration, so I don’t think there’s ever been a need for one. 🙂
