Support » Fixing WordPress » PHP Fatal error after migration

  • I’m working on a new Linux server that is hosting two WordPress sites that were running on a Windows server. After transferring the sites data over I’m getting the following error message on the server via the Apache logs:

PHP Fatal error: require_once(): Failed opening required ‘/var/www/html/domain.com/wp-load.php’ (include_path=’.:/usr/share/php:/usr/share/pear’) in /var/www/html/domain.com/wp-blog-header.php on line 12

I’m not sure why I’m getting this error so would really appreciate some help!

Make sure wp-load.php has proper permissions. Also, check the size of this file. If it is zero then probably it is corrupted.

The wp-load.php file is set to 755 and is 3kb in size. I have also verified there is data in the file.

I deleted the imported config file and the site started working to the point it let me configure new settings. Once I had saved the new config file, the site reverted back to the same error as before.
