# PHP errors on/ wp-admin/install.php

 * After adding the following lines to the .htaccess file to get round a 500 error:
 * AddType x-mapp-php5 .php
    AddHandler x-mapp-php5 .php
 * I now get PHP errors when running install.php (see screenshot at [http://www.dropbox.com/gallery/464470/1/WordPress?h=e4873c](http://www.dropbox.com/gallery/464470/1/WordPress?h=e4873c))
 * Any advice would be much appreciated, I know nothing about PHP!

 * WordPress requires PHP. There is no way to install WordPress without PHP.

 * I am running PHP, here are the details:
 * Apache version 2.2.14 (Unix)
    PHP version 5.2.11 MySQL version 5.0.85-community

 * Can you make a phpinfo page and see if that works? It might tell you if PHP is
   parsing correctly.
 * At a guess it looks like it’s not.
