I just updated my site from the PHP 7.1 to 7.2.31 and now when I go to create a new backup I receive an error “PHP Support: Fail” and can’t create a new backup package. It says “PHP versions 5.2.9+ or higher is required” so I’m not quite sure why it’s working. It worked previously on 7.1, but WordPress notified me to update to the latest version. Does the plugin need an update?

    Thanks

  • Hey @artesian,

I believe that message is from WordPress itself and has nothing to do with Duplicator. Duplicator should work with PHP 5.2.9 or higher.

Let me know if that helps~

    Hi Cory.

I’m getting the same error message. I’m running PHP Version 7.4.8.

Just like OP, I’m getting a message from Duplicator itself telling me to upgrade, even though I’m running a sufficiently recent version of PHP.

I disagree with your assessment that this message is from WordPress.
I’m seeing it in a message from Duplicator itself.

It’s a Duplicator issue: Duplicator can see that I’m running a recent version of PHP, reports the version number accurately, but also reports that the version is older than 5.2.9.
