 * Where can I find PHP code block to modify my footer ? I do not want to be dependent
   on other websites etc.

 * This question is quite open-ended. Perhaps you can be a little more specific 
   of what exactly you are wanting to adjust?
 * To modify the footer of any theme… it is suggested to first create a [Child Theme](http://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes).
   This will allow you to make customizations to your site, without losing them 
   when you update your theme.
 * Then, you could simply take your `footer.php` file from your theme… move it into
   your child theme… and make customizations there.
