 * Off topic guys, but does anyone know of a decent open source PHP MYSQL based 
   NNTP Reader? I want to integrate newsgroup reading on a website I’m building 
   at the mo.

 * A Google search for “php nntp reader” turned up [a project](http://www.csie.nctu.edu.tw/news/doc/index.php)
   which looks promising.

 * I can attest to the project dougal mentioned. Me and a couple of others (the 
   original auth included) are in the process of proting over that reader to a CMS
   for use in portal (that’s PORTAL, not P0RNAL!) 😀 site…..
    It’s good, stable,
   easy to use. Configuration is a bit of a biotch, but it works. TG

 * You can also checkout [http://mynewsgroups.sourceforge.net](http://mynewsgroups.sourceforge.net).
   I’ve installed it at home and got it working. The only downside is that it doesn’t
   log into every nntp server, meaning that it may or may not work with your ISP
   but will on others.
