HI @extremecarver,
Thank you for contacting us.
Sorry you are having this trouble. Does your hosting server have some type of caching that you can clear? I tested installing the plugin on a demo site with the latest WP version and using PHP 8. The plugin worked fine without any issues.
Please try re-installing it and checking if the issue persists. If so, please enable debug.log to check if any relevant errors are logged.

Sorry – on a clean site it works. It must have come in combination with another plugin – I am pretty much sure the error is actually on s2member-pro (the premium addon – not the free s2member). Strangely though broken link checker activation/deactivation then also caused problems.
Hi @extremecarver
Thank you for the information.
The best troubleshooting test is the plugin conflict test:

Remember to take this on a staging website or make a full backup first.

Hi @extremecarver
I hope you are doing well and safe!
We haven’t heard from you in a while, I’ll mark this thread as resolved.
Feel free to let us know if you have any additional question or problem.

ah sorry didn’t know how to mark it as resolved. Yeah the problem was entirely on another plugin (in combination).
