Hi @nascas,
Thank you for the detailed explanation. Could you please provide a screenshot of the error, along with a link to your site? Additionally, let me know which payment gateway you’re using and the plugin you’re using to connect it.
Also, before you rolled back your PHP version, what version were you originally using?

Hi, thank you for your reply.
I was using PHP 8.0 as mentioned before.
Payment method: bank transfer and paypal. I disabled the paypal as I suspected this might cause this but no change.

I can make a printscreen later today if it’s really needed. But when I googled it many people are facing the same issue.
PS: can you hide the URL after you inspect it?
Hi there!
I have tried placing a test order on your site, and I can see that it is currently working fine, as shown in the screenshot below: https://go.screenpal.com/watch/cTffbdniSSb
Just to verify, have you downgraded the PHP version? If yes, could you please create a staging site, upgrade the PHP version to 8.3, activate the default WordPress theme (like Storefront), deactivate all plugins, and activate only the Direct Bank and Cash on Delivery payment methods on the staging site? Once all that is done, could you please share the staging site URL so we can further investigate?
Currently, I’m using PHP version 8.0 on my site, and I’m not seeing any error messages. That’s why I’m asking you to create a staging site, so we can try placing an order or replicate the issue and error message. This may help us identify the root cause of the problem.

Yes, I have downgraded from 8 to 7.4.
Is there any other way we can check this? I have multiple sites on the same server so changing the PHP version might affect others as I can’t set up the version for each site individually.
Am I the only one with these issues? I have spent quite a lot of time researching and found out a lot of users have been dealing with the same issues since October last year!
Hi there!
I understand your concern, while it might seem like multiple users are facing the same issue, the root cause can often differ from case to case.
I’m currently using PHP versions 8.3 and 8.4 on my test sites but haven’t been able to replicate the issue.
That’s why I suggest creating a staging site where you can update the PHP version to 8.3 or 8.4. Please also deactivate all plugins except for WooCommerce.
Once that’s done, kindly share the staging site URL with us so we can investigate further.

Okay, I activated the twentyseventeen theme, disabled all the plugins and set the PHP to 8,3 and 8.4.
The same error occured. Once I switched back to 7,4 everything started to work again.
So it’s not theme or plugin related.
I can’t leave the PHP to 8+ because there are other sites that need to work.
It might be doable If we can arrange a fixed time for your test?
Hi there!
Thank you for the update and for running the tests!
Unfortunately, we don’t have a fixed timeframe for testing, but we will prioritize the issue and get back to you as soon as possible.
To continue troubleshooting, please provide a link to your staging site where only the WooCommerce plugin is active, and all other plugins are disabled. This will help us isolate the issue and proceed with a more focused investigation.
Let us know once the staging site is ready, and we can take it from there!
Hi there,
As we haven’t had any updates, I’ll assume this is resolved and close the thread. Feel free to reconnect anytime.
