 * Just downloaded WordPress and entered wp-admin/install.php in my browser. However
it seems I do not have PHP installed & wonder if there is an easy way to download
PHP or get this working? Being a novice, I am not sure I have the wherewithall
to fill in the configue php myself.
 * In view of these problems and my not being able to open or use WordPress, I take
it re-downloading it from Fantastico or taking out a domain hosting package with,
say WordPress, would not help in any way?
 * I was also thinking that with blogger you just type the posts direct on line–
could this also be the same for wordpress and, if so, would it also be possible
to enter plug ins on line?

 * Are you trying to just login to your WordPress site, or are you trying to edit
the PHP to make it do something differently? If you can clarify your issue a
bit more I may be able to help you out.
 * If you’re trying to go to yoursite.com/wp-admin and getting an error, chances
are the install did not happen correctly, I would recommend uninstalling and
   retrying.

 * Thanks for such a speedy response.
 * Basically I downloaded WordPress into a folder and then entered wp-admin/install.
php in my browser and this took me straight to the WordPress forum.
 * I had hoped that once I had downloaded WordPress the installation would start
almost automatically but this was not the case, and I can’t see what else I can
click on in the file download to start the installation process.
 * I am very seriously thinking of taking advantage of WordPress Web hosting and
presume this would also need me to get this download working.
 * Thanks again.

 * You need a webserver, so look around for some decent web hosting. Alternatively
if you just want to try out WordPress, think about signing up for a WordPress.
   com account.

 * Have a look at the requirements for WordPress – [http://wordpress.org/about/requirements/](http://wordpress.org/about/requirements/)
and be sure that you meet them.
 * As Rich ‘elfin’ Pedley already said – you need a webserver, so you will either
need to set up one or just find a host, alternative may however also be setting
   up a WordPress blog at WordPress.com – [http://wordpress.com/](http://wordpress.com/)
