 * I was interested in moving PHP 7.0 and my hosting service plugin says the Hummingbird
   plugin is not compatible. Is there a plan to make Hummingbird compatible with
   7.0 and if so what is the time frame for that?
 * Thanks

 * Hello there Kevin,
 * hope you’re doing well today and thanks for reaching us! 🙂
 * As you can also see in HummingBird’s changelog here:
    [https://wordpress.org/plugins/hummingbird-performance/#developers](https://wordpress.org/plugins/hummingbird-performance/#developers)
 * > 1.7.2 ( 2018-02-06 )
   >  … Enhance: PHP 7.2 compatibility …
 * I’m also testing it in a live server using even PHP 7.2 and 7.3 and everything
   is working good. Feel free to grab a complete backup (all files and database)
   and carry on with the update.
 * Warm regards,
    Dimitris

 * Really appreciate the super fast response! Here is the “error message”. I’m not
   technical so not sure what this means. Still ok to proceed forward?

 * [@blarney27](https://wordpress.org/support/users/blarney27/),
 * Hummingbird supports PHP version from 5.2 to 7.3. That means that the function
   name that are used in PHP 5.2 will still be present in the code for backward
   compatibility. So, yes, it is safe to upgrade.
 * Best regards,
    Anton
