• Hello!
    A question here,
Does WordPress 4.3 work fine with PHP 5.5?
I know php 5.6 is recommended but my hosting doesn’t have 5.6.
I’d like to know if it could present serious issues because I’ve had problems already installing -unknowingly- WP 3.4 in a PHP 5.2 enviroment that made me lose an important amount of time and effort put in my website.

Would there be important issues related to this?
Would you recommend, instead, installing a previous version of WP?

I’m new to WP and I’d appreciate your help!

  • Nah, you upgrade at ease

As from the requirements page: https://wordpress.org/about/requirements/ – you need, at a minimum, PHP 5.2.4 and MySQL 5.0. That being said, anything below PHP 5.6 and MySQL 5.0 is at End of Life meaning that you could experience security vulnerabilities that will not be fixed by PHP or MySQL. I would contact your hosts and see if they’ll be upgrading soon so that it won’t be an issue. If they won’t be upgrading, then I would suggest looking for a new host for better support and a better security perspective.
