@takayuki Miyoshi, Please support.
Moderator note: Everyone who’s “me, too’d” on this topic: PHP 5.6 is no longer supported by WordPress.
See https://wordpress.org/support/update-php/
as well as host-specific info:
https://github.com/WordPress/servehappy-resources/blob/master/tutorials/hosting-specific/tutorials-en.md
You should be on PHP 7.4 *at the very least*.
WordPress also says
Note: If you are in a legacy environment where you only have older PHP or MySQL versions, WordPress also works with PHP 5.6.20+ and MySQL 5.0+, but these versions have reached official End Of Life and as such may expose your site to security vulnerabilities.

You’ll find many plugins and themes have moved beyond 5.6. Best to keep up!
@sterndata have you ever seen wordpress statistics https://wordpress.org/about/stats/ ? don’t destroy about 10 % websites ..
Apparently the earlier update broke in PHP8
https://wordpress.org/support/topic/fatal-error-with-recent-update-3/
so maybe, just maybe, the developers of CF7 did not intend this to happen?
5.6 is insecure and past EOL. I’m closing this topic. If, after updating PHP, anyone continues to have a problem with this plugin, please *start your own topic* at https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/contact-form-7/ and don’t jump in on anyone else’s.
Note that I am not associated with the plugin’s support or development.
