This plugin seems to be nice, however I can’t get it to work for the simple reason that I have no clue what to use as “User ID (*)” needed to see my albums. I’ve tried everything I can think of, but nothing works. I can see a list of my albums when I put my gmail account in the Photonic -> Helper -> Picasa / Google Photos -> Picasa / Google Photos Album ID Finder but using the email as User ID does not work.

BTW what is the meaning of “(*)”? Required? See below? (there is nothing)

    Many thanks for your help.

P.S. Sorry for such a stupid question.

The User ID is your Google user name – not the full email address, but just the user name. E.g. if your email address is xyz@gmail.com, your user name is xyz.

The * means a field is required.

If you are not seeing any photos coming across by passing the user id as in the above, can you provide me with a URL to troubleshoot?

Thanks for the quick reply. Followed your suggestion but nothing is showing. The short code generated is:

    [gallery type='picasa' user_id='kayakauray' kind='album' album='6418816708187431649' access='public' protection='none' max_results='10' more='Plus...' layout='square' caption='title-desc' thumb_size='72' main_size='1600' ]

The album nr. was found with the Picasa / Google Photos Album ID Finder so parts seem to be working.

    URL: http://www.kayakauray.fr/410-2/

The page remains empty. Any idea what I am doing wrong?

I don’t believe that particular album of yours is public. I don’t see it when I go to https://picasaweb.google.com/data/feed/api/user/kayakauray?prettyprint=true. You will need to do a couple of things:

    1. Instead of kind='album', drop it altogether, or say kind='photo'
    2. Instead of access='public' say access='public,protected,private'
