• Hello. I have recently been a problem with video viewing uploaded in Smugmug: On my WordPress page, Photonic reports the thumnail of the video as it appears in Smugmug, but when you click on “Viewing”, the thumbnail transforms into black screen and nothing happens. Weird thing, old videos already in Smugmug are visible without any problem on my WordPress pages on which they are.
I swing Firefox to tracking mode (F12) to see what’s going on. To my big surprise I see that the error is 404. But when I copy the entire chain of the video, and that I read on another Firefox tab, I accessed without problem.
    Here is the photonic code:
    [Gallery Type = ‘Smugmug’ view = ‘album’ album = ‘pjcsmw’ nick_name = ‘clubmetzplongels’ columns = ‘1’ title_position = ‘below’ capption = ‘title-desc’ thumb_size = ‘Small’ layout = ‘Square’ Headers = ”]
And here is the complete get shot from Firefox tracking, produced by Photonic (I think):
    Get https://photos.smugmug.com/2021-11-fosse-encadrants-video//-g4cdtqs/0/b6298567/1920/2021-11-28%20Fosse%20Encadrants%20%C3%A0%20creutzwald_B-1920 .mp4

    Thanks for your help.
    Raymond

Can you provide me with a URL where this is happening? Generally this occurs due to a missing size – it is best to pick the setting that says “Largest” for the “Main Video Size”. Your profile seems to be protected, so I cannot see for myself what is happening.

    Hello,
Thank you for your very fast answer, I am bluffed.
This is the link on the page that contains access to the video that does not load:

In replacing the parameters mentioned above, here are those currently used by Photonic for the video I gave you the URL :
    [gallery type='smugmug' view='album' album='pjcSMw' nick_name='clubmetzplongeeloisirs' columns='1' title_position='below' caption='title-desc' thumb_size='Small' layout='square' video_size='1920' headers='']
    Regards

    Instead of video_size= '1920', use video_size= 'Largest'

I changed the video-size parameter, but it does not work, the video does not start. This is the photonic command line:
    [Gallery Type = ‘Smugmug’ view = ‘album’ album = ‘pjcsmw’ nick_name = ‘clubmetzplifying blocks’ columns = ‘1’ title_position = ‘Below’ Caption = ‘Title-Desc’ thumb_size = ‘Small’ Layout = ‘Square’ video_size = ‘Largest’ Headers = ”]
    Regards

    Sorry, bad copy paste.
This is the right command line:
    [gallery type='smugmug' view='album' album='pjcSMw' nick_name='clubmetzplongeeloisirs' columns='1' title_position='below' caption='title-desc' thumb_size='Small' layout='square' video_size='Largest' headers='']

Can you try with a different lightbox, instead of GLightbox?

    (@mpl57webr)

Unfortunately nothing works. I tried the JavaScript librairy:
BaguetteBox: starts but nothing is charging
    BigPicture: does not start
LightGallery: Does not start, in return Video message not found
    Photoswipe: Do not even open
    Spotlight: starts but find nothing
And no jQuery Library does not work. Always the same message "No video with the format or type MIME has been found"

Sorry, in that case I am not sure of how to help. Moreover, your SmugMug account is protected, so I cannot do any troubleshooting there either.

There doesn’t seem to be anything wrong with the shortcode or the videos. And if the same settings for videos are working for other videos, then I would suspect something is specifically off with this video.

Thank you for the time you wanted to devote to my problem. I will investigate with Smugmug and if needed, I’ll come back to you.
    Regards
