    I’m using Photon on my site. My images are being loaded from i1.wp.com/. So I’m assuming that’s the CDN that Jetpack uses.

    My live site is just fine. When I copy the site to staging, ON WPENGINE, the images won’t load.

    My staging site is hidden behind a server-side password, but the images show as soon as I turn off Photon. So I’m guessing that it is a small bug.

    My url is http://russellenvy.com/. I’m using a free WP theme. You can view the source and see the image path is being loaded from i1.wp.com/.

    That’s indeed to be expected. Jetpack’s Photon module can only cache and serve images that are publicly available. Since your images aren’t publicly available, Photon can’t download them.

    To avoid issues with Jetpack on your staging site, I’d suggest enabling Jetpack Development mode:
