Can you please use Jetpack's Debugger module to send us some more information about your site?

    1) Go to the Jetpack page in your dashboard.
    2) Click on the Debug link appearing at the bottom of the page.
    3) Click the link that says "click here to contact Jetpack support."
    4) Fill in the description box and your name and email address.
    5) Click the "Contact Support" button.

    Thanks!

FYI: I reinstalled 2.6. Works fine - so there must be something new in 2.61 which causes the malfunction.

We've received your email and I just replied. Check your inbox.

For other who would face similar issues: the key here is the error message mentioned in the test results:

Can not resolve your domain "A record"
We were unable to resolve the A record for your domain. It is likely that you have recently registered your domain name. It takes several hours for new or transferred domain names to start working, so please come check back later. If you're still having the same error after 48 hours, please contact your web hosting provider.

    That worked, thank you!

I don't think the cause was my new domain name (since that's over a year old), but who cares.

Thanks again for your kind help.

A problem with an A record, or the accessibility of it, can happen to older domain names—a transfer or new registration are just two common examples.
