I would like to set up a custom field using s2meember custom fields: member_photo, and this new field would contain the url to a photo. I would reference this field in an image tag: <img src=”s2_member_photo”> and place this photo on the profile template. I would edit the photo, and upload it and provide the link. Please let me know how to do this with s2member – page to edit, code, file, etc.
    Thanks

Do you mean you want to add this to the registration form? If so, see this thread.

Actually, I would enter the url through the admin panel – users profile. I would also modify the profile page template and the display of users template to show the image based on the url I entered into the custom s2member field. It seems like this should work – I just need a little guidance as to the correct templates to modify.

In that case, does the Simple Local Avatars plugin do what you need without extra coding?

I tried that plugin. It is working great, only the image does not show up on the profile page – only when you click on the user at the top right of the screen. I don’t think this will work for the listing of users. Thanks.

Then how about Basic User Avatars? It’s based on the other plugin, but offers a shortcode that you could put in a widget and display on the profile page.
