Support » Plugin: Slider by Soliloquy - Responsive Image Slider for WordPress » Personal Version is too basic.

  • It’s a shame, I really wanted this plugin to work for me.

I believe that Themepunch’s Revolution Slider was giving me slow loading times.

So, I bought the Soliloquy Slider Personal version.

It was quite cheap at $19. But their yearly subscription model does not represent good value compared to Themepunch’s fully featured Revolution Slider; which I paid upfront for with no annual subscription payment model.

Soliloquy personal version ships with no templates.

To get the Templates you would have to buy the “Multi-Version” at $49 dollars which is very overpriced compared to the competition.

Factor in the yearly subscription and you are really paying far more than you would for any slider package as far as I can see.

Yes, you can use Solilquoy on three sites. But most users I believe would only be using the slider on one site.

I bought Revolution slider 3 years ago for under $30 as one-off payment. That’s the only payment I’ve made. I’m sure at some point a major upgrade will require another payment. But so far I haven’t had to pay anything more than the initial price.

Revolution Slider is currently selling for $26. Assuming you are using it one site, as most of us would. And let’s assume for a term of 3 years and we’ve paid nothing extra. So for 3-year use, I’ve paid a total of $26.

Compare this to Soliloquoy’s Multi plan of $49 x 3 = $149 – way overpriced compared to the competition.

So what is wrong with the actual slider?

Well, you have very little control of your slider backed up with very thin support pages.

Something as fundamental as full width or full-screen sliders requires YOU to add the CSS.
