• Got a client using WordPress (1.2, I believe). He gets a consistent ‘Not Found’ error when browsing his blog that is only cured by deleting cookies and clearing the cache.

    It looks like others have had this problem before. Did anyone figure out the cause of this yet?

  • What browser is he using, out of curiousity, or is this happening in more than one browser?

    This has happened to me before using both IE and not just in his blog but on my own personal (WP 1.2) blog.

    This problem is happening to other users using Internet Explorer. So frustrating. I might try upgrading to WP 1.5.

    That did not work either. Multiple users are having this problem – all using Internet Explorer. Everything is working fine for me using IE and Mozilla and Firefox.

    NEVERMIND.

    Good Christ. Finally figured it out I think.

    Some links to the blog had the WWW on the front of the link – some didn’t.

    WHEW!

    In IE 5.5 tell them to do the following: click
    Tools > Internet Options
    then under the General tab in the middle where it says: Temporary internet files
    – to click on Settings > there are 4 radio buttons.
    Check for newer version for stored pages:
    * Every visit to the page
    * Every time you start Internet Explorer
    * Automatically
    * Never

    Advise them to check the very first button! It might help 🙂
