Hi, was wondering if there’s a way you could add an option to set long term persistent cookies to a users computer, not just browser. Like FB and some others do; One removes them and they pop right back again and are hardcoded into the machine.

Would be great to be able to know that using incognito, different browsers, deleting cookies or upon closing a browser won’t remove cookies so they always get the version they first saw.

Till I refresh or set to expire from plugin settings.

Also would be great to be able to choose if to set cookies for admin or exclude certain users/ roles from tracking/ cookies.

    Hallo TekGirlyMama,

to get this ever lasting cookies there are some things that need to be done. There are so called “super cookies” that use different technology then normal cookies like the session storage of the browser witch mostly is not cleaned if cookies are deleted. But this just works with one browser. Another option is so called “Device Fingerprint Tracking” witch is a good solution but needs javascript to be implemented (session storage too). Since our script decides on the server side witch elements to render, javascript functions would be to late to take data into account. In addition for e.x. apple currently started to block “Device Fingerprint Tracking” and other alternativ tracking possibilities. So it would stay a cats and mouse game.

Multi Browser and Cross Device tracking on FB works because the users have active sessions on this platforms. So for ad Tracking we could always popped back to the old cookies as long as they are logged in or as they login. Since old data could be conncted to the logged in account.
