Persist category filter in admin

Can anyone please tell me how to persist the category filter when viewing posts in admin? Say I have a LOT of posts and currently only am working on those in category “AAA”. I select AAA in the filter select menu and press “Filter”, I find one of the posts I want to edit, go back to list of posts… and now I have to go throught the filter process one more time. Seems it would be a whole lot simpler if the filter was persisted. Can someone tell me how?
