• Before I start complaining, I don’t think I will EVER deal with 1and1 hosting again! I have run into SO many goofy issues that I NEVER had with any other hosting.

Ok, now that I’ve got that out…on to my OTHER issue:

I recently installed WordPress onto a created subdomain. When I logged in, it said it needed to be updated. I go to try to do the auto update, it fails. SURPRISE! The error I got was:

    Downloading update from http://wordpress.org/wordpress-3.4.2.zip…

        Unpacking the update…

Warning: copy(/homepages/43/d300409144/htdocs/app438160177/wp-admin/includes/update-core.php) [function.copy]: failed to open stream: Permission denied in /homepages/43/d300409144/htdocs/app438160177/wp-admin/includes/class-wp-filesystem-direct.php on line 200

        Could not copy files.

        Installation Failed

So initially, I did a fresh install and THOUGHT that worked, but um, no. SO I logged into the FTP area to do the manual install and for whatever reason, the permissions are jacked up to where I can’t even delete a folder. This is REAL annoying. That’s as nice as I can put it right now.

Might anyone be able to tell me how I can fix this?
