 * I just locked myself out of my client’s site by playing around with permissions.
I set the root directory on the server to 777 using Dreamweaver and watched as
wp-admin and wp-contents files disappeared from the screen before my eyes (remote
view). Now I can’t get into any part of his site including viewing the front
end. How do I undo this? I don’t host this site, do I need to go through the
   hosting co?

 * You need to set all of the folders back to 755 and all the files to 644 using
your [FTP client](http://codex.wordpress.org/FTP_Clients) or whatever file management
   application your host provides.
