Support » Fixing WordPress » permissions for uploading images makes no difference

  • So I’ve got this magic little error message The uploaded file could not be moved to /home/httpd/vhosts/

I have already changed all permissions for wp-content and uploads to 777 (which is courting disaster I’m sure). No change except WP can now create the upload folder that we cannot upload to.

I have already deactivated, and then removed, all plugins.

I have cleared browser cache which always pisses me off.

I have read the permissions codex and through the forum threads and none of the solutions work here.

Web host dude is of no help ATM if I don’t find a fix I am going to punch this computer through the wall. Have developed a nice headache and stress pains down my neck and want to kill self and others.
