Permission settings not taken into account
I’m a kinda newb’on WordPress and would like to have some advise…
I’ve bought a hosting on a webhost called OVH, well known in France. I’m now trying to finish my website which is already online, but when I’m trying to update WordPress, or any plugin, or to download plugins, even when uploading pics, I always have the same error message :
Downloading install package from http://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/nextgen-gallery.zip…
Download failed. Destination directory for file streaming does not exist or is not writable.
And by the way when I try to change permission settings on my FTP, permission which are by default named as xxx, the changes are not saved. I change from xxx to 750 for instance, and recheck, all permissions are again on xxx. Never saved.
Do you have a solution for me ?
Thanks a lot, this is an association site and I’m really late on delivery due to those 2 errors, which are certainly liked to each other.
Thanks a lot for all the help you can give me !
