# Permanent Links – Issue

 * Hello, I get the following message in my WordPress and I can´t solve it:
 * “The directives required for the permalinks could not be detected. Please confirm
   if they are available: Creation and Edition”
 * Could anyone help me please?

 * Looks like this could be a W3 Total Cache issue. Do you have that plugin installed?
   If so, try this:
 *     ```
       If the error message “The required directives for fancy permalinks could not be detected” appears, follow these steps:
       On the left sidebar, hover over Settings, and then click Permalinks.
       Choose a method of Permalinks other than the default setting, and then click Save Changes.
       To return to the W3 Total Cache Settings, hover over Performance in the left menu, and then click General Settings.
       ```

 * Yes, I’m using w3 cache
 * I already have all the steps, I’m using custom links, and I saved the changes.
 * The last step you put me: “To return to the full cache configuration of W3, scroll
   to Performance in the menu on the left and then click on General Settings.”
 * But after what do I do?
    The same problem keeps coming up.
