    Hello.

I just managed to migrate my website from Japan domestic hosting service to AWS. It first seemed successful but now I am facing a permalink issue.

After getting done with migration job, I modified DNS records (to AWS instance), and updated WordPress SITEURL and SITEADDRESS (from IP address to my domain). However, the permalink on Edit page is still remains as original IP address. Probably because of that, when you access to some page such as http://cupoftea-takayama.net/en , name resolution itself succeed, but the URL showing on address bar is changed to IP address.

I have no idea how to fix this. Did I miss any of steps during migration? Any help would be appreciated!!

    Regards,
    Mayumi

On your website, go to All-in-One WP Migration -> Export page.
Under advanced settings check every options exception “Do not export database” – this will export only the database and exclude plugins, themes, uploads.
Next, you need to use find/replace tool.
In Find field enter your ip address of the site, e.g. (127.0.0.1)
In Replace field enter the site url: cupoftea-takayama.net/en
    Do not include http:// part.

Export to file then import from file on the same site. This should replace all instances of the IP address in the database with your domain name.

    Dear Yani
Thank you very much for your swift reply as always. That worked! Never knew that this tool comes in handy when I have to tweak mysql and I don’t want to 🙂
    Thanks again.

    You are very welcome.
You can use this feature to even rename usernames and so on 😉 Use with care.
