Permalinks or rewrite and howto

  • Hello WordPress community.

    For over a few years we’re just doing our wordpress permalinks the way they are by default. But we want something different, and then we mean; Completely different.

    I wrote 2 simple rewrite lines that will generate http://www.example.com/company::privacy but will this be possible in WordPress?

    But when you add a page, it will be like the way we have it now: http://www.example.com/?p=123

    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} company::
    RewriteRule (:[a-zA-Z]+)$ /company.php?id=$1 [L]

    Ignore the company.php idea because we think WordPress does use another file. Is it possible to make this kind of permalinks?

  • Does anybody know if there is a file name I could set instead of company.php that I have posted in post one to let my RewriteRule work in WordPress?
